Conscious Poem: I Grasp

I Grasp

I grasp at words
as fluid as hers
Feather-light voice
with rich, dark chocolate tones
Come with ease
but mine are uneasy

I admit to a certain jealousy
yet I yearn for your happiness

I grasp at pictures
as gorgeous as hers
Deep, bold colors
with rough, precise edges
A work of art
but mine is awkward

I admit to a certain melancholy
despite my happy contentment

I grasp at feelings
as tender as hers
Satin-soft skin
with fleeting butterfly fingers
Fairytale synchronicity
while my dreams dissolve

I admit to a certain desire
beyond companionship comfort
