Winter can be a hard season, its cold, dark and down right miserable and we’d all rather be snuggled up in bed. But also, it really takes a toll on our skin. So keeping this in mind, here are a few things you can do to make sure your skin is the least of your worries this cold season!
Hydrate! Keeping our skin hydrated is imperative with keeping it healthy, especially during Winter. The cold air really dehydrates the skin and so making sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day will really help clear your skin.
Facemasks! Giving your skin a good pamper with a facemask once or twice a week will also really help to clear our any impurities that the harsh winter months have left on there. My personal favourites are the Body Shop masks, particularly, the Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing mask
Get your sleep! Simple one right? But, for a lot of people getting the recommended seven plus hours sleep is hard. But believe me your skin will thank you for it. There is no better skincare than making sure your body can fully reboot over night, magical things happen!
Moisturise! Most people think that because their skin is oily/combination they don’t need to moisturise as much as people with normal/dry skin. However, this isn’t the case. Not moisturising will eventually make your skin overproduce oils on your skin.
Clean your sheets! Changing your bed sheets and pillow cases will help get rid of any dead skin or nasties that have been festering on them, which can contribute to problematic skin.
Eat your greens! While it is so easy to use scoff your face with chocolate over Winter. Adding in some healthy greens and fruit into your skincare will do wonders.
But, most importantly:
Give it time. Don’t expect your skin to be glowing and clear overnight! Keep at it and you will see a difference, taking a before picture will definitely help you see the difference!
